Over a dozen global projects achieve newest LEED version
Aug. 29, 2025

The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) recently announced the first projects to achieve certification under the LEED v5 program.

Over a dozen global projects achieved the first certifications under the newest version of LEED. The projects represent a diverse set of building types across multiple sectors and around the world, highlighting the global adaptability, broad adoption, and ease of use of the LEED rating system, USGBC says.

In 2023, USGBC opened an early version of the rating system for a select group of project teams worldwide. Sixty projects from around the world were accepted into the program, with nearly one-third of them successfully completing certification to date.

These building projects—from office buildings to warehouse and distribution centers to retail shops—helped inform and shape the newest version of LEED. This inaugural class of projects comprises over 12 million sf of space across nine countries.
