A wellness-focused apartment building opens near downtown Denver
The Max Collaborative, a real estate developer headquartered in Ohio, has opened Wilder, a 196-unit, art deco–inspired apartment building in Denver.
Designed by Davis Partnership Architects, the multifamily building, located a mile west of downtown Denver, offers amenities that focus on wellbeing, such as a fitness center with a yoga studio and co-working spaces. With city and mountain views, two rooftop terraces feature grills, a gas firepit, and a plunge pool.
Wilder includes an expansive art program intended to help create a sense of community and to connect residents to a Colorado ethos of nature and exploration. NINE dot ARTS, a Denver-based art consultancy, curated over 400 pieces of art for the apartment building, including five original commissions from local artists.
“We explored various mediums—from collage and sculpture to photography—to create a one-of-a-kind collection that captures the spirit of being wild and untamed,” Hannah Penny, curator at NINE dot ARTS, said in a statement. “We hope residents enjoy the experience of living in an art gallery.”
Wilder offers one- and two-bedroom apartments ranging from 579 to 1,240 sf. Each apartment has an open-style kitchen with stainless steel appliances, quartz countertops, wood-style vinyl flooring, matte black fixtures, and in-unit washer and dryer, in addition to custom kitchen and storage cabinetry. Some units have movable kitchen islands, walk-in closets, and outdoor terraces.
The Fitwel-certified building has nine stories above grade and one below-grade podium. The project broke ground in October 2022 and completed construction in December 2024.
The Max Collaborative also recently developed One River North, a Denver apartment building that features a landscaped canyon running through the structure.
On the project team: The Max Collaborative (owner), Davis Partnership Architects (design architect and architect of record), ME Engineers (MEP engineer), Jirsa-Hedrick Structural Engineers (structural engineer), and Saunders Construction (general contractor).
