Though most new skyscraper designs have a traditional look, they are including a wider array of sustainable elements to use energy and water more efficiently and improve human health. Among the increasingly employed features are specially engineered facades to heat and cool the buildings, self-heating atriums, and double skins applied to skyscrapers’ facades, with moveable steel and glass elements applied to exteriors to diffuse sunlight.
