Aug. 11, 2010

Gwinnett County, Ga., recently opened a 185,000-sf, 79-bed addition to the Glancy Outpatient Center in Duluth, Ga. The new Gwinnett Medical Center–Duluth features a four-level, 343-car parking deck, and is the first facility in Gwinnett County to feature an all-digital, paperless work environment.

The three state-of-the-art operating rooms house advanced imaging that provides surgeons and staff immediate access to patients' medical history, tests, and scans.

Architect Perkins+Will, Chicago, created a homey “retreat” environment for the public and healing spaces with warm materials, plenty of daylight, and comfortable furniture.

R. J. Griffin & Co., Atlanta, was the general contractor.
