JetBlue Breaks Ground on Crew Lodge

JetBlue Airways broke ground recently at Orlando International Airport on its $24.5 million JetBlue Crew Lodge, which will be used to accommodate the airline's crewmembers who are in the Orlando area conducting training and other airline-related business. Expected to be completed in 14 to 18 months, the lodge will be situated on 4.5 acres of a 6.5-acre site, and will feature 292 guest rooms, a 4,000-sf assembly room, a 1,000-sf fitness center, two study rooms, four meeting rooms, and an e-library. Outdoor amenities will include a pool, sports court, and kitchen facilities. The lodge is being constructed by Manhattan Construction, Tulsa, Okla., with Houston-based Mitchell, Carlson, Stone Inc. heading the design team.
