Miami's Foram Group has announced plans to develop Brickell Financial Centre, a 1.5 million-sf, twin-tower office and hotel project planned for the city's West Side. The project, designed by the Washington, D.C., office of RTKL, Baltimore, is the first LEED Silver precertified core and shell building in Florida. Brickell Financial Centre will be built in two phases. The $245 million first phase, scheduled for completion in late 2009, will consist of 600,000 sf in the 40-story tower—the first floor for lobby and retail space, the next 11 stories for parking, topped by 28 floors of office space. The second tower, rising 68 stories, will include retail, office space, and a 300-room hotel on the top floors. The BG Group of Boca Raton, Fla., is the general contractor.
