A solid foundation

Aug. 11, 2010

Since it was built in 1991, Allstate's Southwest Data Center in Dallas has grown from 380,000 square feet and 1,000 employees to over a half-million square feet and 2,000 employees. A state-of-the-art building-automation system has helped the insurer scale up operations and will continue to do so as the facility again expands through the consolidation of three national data centers into two.

Continuous updates to the building-automation system have proven to be a key to consistent uptime, sustained operational reliability and successful business growth. The technology controls HVAC and thermal storage, fire and life safety, security and lighting systems, enabling the expanding complex to achieve optimum efficiency and performance from critical building functions.
