Birmingham, Ala.-based BE&K Building Group has launched a healthcare practice in Nashville, Tenn. The nine-person office will be led by Burk Waugh, formerly with Bovis Lend Lease.

Callison, Seattle, has created a consultancy specializing in technical audit services for data centers and mission critical facilities. The new division will be lead by associate principal Leonard Ruff and Joseph Lindsay, formerly a systems engineer with Amazon.com.

Perry Esslinger has joined St. Louis-based design-builder Clayco as VP. Previously, Esslinger served as SVP of operations for Alberici, St. Louis.

Chris Schaffner, associate with the Boston office of ARUP, will leave the firm to start his own consultancy, The Green Engineer, Acton, Mass.

Emeryville, Calif.-based architect Ratcliff has created a new design studio focused on civic architecture. Mary McGrath, AIA, a specialist in fire station design, will lead the new group.

Steven G. Schwerd has joined Boston-based A/E Cubellis Associates as VP of MEP and structural engineering. Schwerd will be based in the firm's Monmouth County, N.J., office.

RJA Group, Chicago, has hired Jack Brady as director of government services. Based in the firm's Laurel, Md., office, Brady will manage all aspects of RJA's Federal government work.

Turner Corp., Dallas, has promoted four employees to executive VP status: William M. Brennan will supervise Tompkins Builders and the Washington, D.C., Maryland, Miami, Pittsburgh, and Philadelphia operations; Russell L. Burns will oversee operations in Nashville, Tenn., Huntsville, Ala., and Ohio; Pasquale A. "Pat" DiFilippo will run the national interiors operation; and Kenneth J. Leach will supervise the Western region and pharmaceutical/biotech operations.

Houston-based structural engineer Walter P. Moore has opened an office in Las Vegas, its ninth regional location. Andrew P. Sullivan will head the new office. The firm also named Faisal S. Syed, PE, LEED AP, managing director of civil engineering services in Dallas.

Atlanta-based architect Niles Bolton Associates has named Michael A. Fornaro director of interior design.

Campus Apartments Inc., a Philadelphia-based developer of upscale housing for colleges and universities, has hired Charles Jefferson as VP of development.

SmithGroup, Detroit, has named Ted Davis, AIA, principal and director of design for its Minneapolis, Minn., office. Davis previously worked for Architectural Alliance, Minneapolis.

Perkins+Will, Chicago, has named Raymond S. Clark, AIA, principal and managing director of its home office.
