A need for more natural light in the atrium of the Plaza Valle shopping center in Monterrey, Mexico, called for installation of a single-layer lamella pattern dome. The skylight's lightweight properties-weighing less than 1.3 pounds per square foot-permit it to cover the atrium's 55-by-82-ft. span without the need for structural reinforcement.
