Stylish Shopping in the City by the Bay
The Westfield San Francisco Centre entered its final phase of construction this summer. The project will include over one million square feet of shops, restaurants, and entertainment, including a five-story Bloomingdale's, second in size only to the New York location. Executive architect KA Architecture incorporated some elements of the original department store, which survived the 1906 earthquake and fire before standing empty for years. The initial 102-foot-diameter glass and steel dome and rotunda were raised to accommodate the new developments, and the façade was restored and strengthened.
