Medical Device Company HQ Begins Site Work in Minnesota

Developer Opus Northwest of Minneapolis broke ground on Phase 1 of a three-phase, 1.5 million-sf headquarters for Medtronic Inc.'s pacemaker, cardiac defibrillator, and other medical device businesses. Phase I of the new headquarters will be an 820,000 sf office complex consisting of two eight-story towers with an adjacent 4,000-space parking deck. Initial site work for Phase I will be done throughout the winter. Building construction will begin in spring 2006, with completion slated for fall 2007. Julie Snow Architects of Minneapolis and Opus Architects and Engineers are also part of the design-build team.
