Historic Florsheim Building Set for Redevelopment
The Chicago City Council recently approved an ordinance calling for the redevelopment of the Florsheim Building on the city's North Side. Chicago-based Dubin Residential is converting the building into 175 residential units, retail, and office space as the renamed Shoemaker Lofts. The city will contribute $8.5 million in tax increment financing toward the $56 million project. The building is listed on the Chicago Historical Resources survey.
