GTM Architects's Diane Taitt on 3form Varia resin panels
3form Varia architectural resin panels can be custom designed with virtually any color, pattern, interlayer, and finish, providing architects with endless design possibilities for functional and decorative panel systems.
Diane Taitt, IIDA, ASID, partner with GTM Architects, Bethesda, Md., specified 3form Varia resin panels for the 35,000-sf Potomac Overlook YMCA in Fort Washington, Md. The 3/8-inch-thick, 4x8-foot panels were custom designed in YMCA-brand red and inset with random, playful YMCA letters. They serve as wall and ceiling panels and as column wraps throughout the facility.
Why Diane Taitt Specified 3form Varia Panels for the YMCA:
“I needed to protect the existing columns in the wellness area from daily wear and tear on the drywall. The 3form product presented an excellent opportunity to use something that branded the YMCA. We were able to select the 'Y’ red color as the background and playfully scatter the YMCA letters throughout the panels.”
“The product has a very contemporary, sleek look, which was exactly what I was going for.”
“At the time, 3form was on the forefront with customizing fiberglass panels. They did an excellent job of providing inspiration and concept possibilities.”
“The panels are light and easy to install. They arrived at the job site pre-drilled and ready for installation on the columns.”
