Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital to stay open during renovations
Suffolk Construction of Boston has begun work on a $30 million expansion to the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Needham, Mass. The 44,000-sf addition is the hospital's largest facility improvement project in 30 years. The team will construct a new two-story vertical expansion and renovate the existing facility to upgrade the façade and create a new front entrance. Designed by Steffian Bradley Architects of Boston, the project will provide 20 additional in-patient beds, an ER, and an MRI suite. The Suffolk team will work in and above the existing building while patient care and daily operations continue uninterrupted.
