Green-minded restaurant opens in Chicago’s Wicker Park

Dec. 9, 2011

Prasino (Greek for “green”) is part of a family-owned chain of restaurants focused on eco-friendly and environmentally responsible dining. Located in Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood, the 5,000-sf restaurant (by Summit Design + Build and Byrne Design) features tabletops and floors made from reclaimed wood and light fixtures made from recycled wine bottles and corrugated cardboard boxes. Kitchens are designed to reduce energy and water use, while polished concrete floors and barn wood ceilings give the space a rustic appearance.
