A Major League Baseball stadium in Colorado used LiteSteel Beam products to build a 4,000-sf patio bar for local patrons. Designed by Populous Architects, the patio was originally configured for pub-style seating in an open-space design, featuring a steel-braced awning as the focal point. But when materials costs traveled north of the budget, the Building Team turned to LiteSteel products to achieve the desired look of the awning while keeping costs under control. The cold-formed steel is a light structural beam that’s easy to lift by hand for quick installation. At about 32 feet in length, the steel beams weigh 350 lb, only half as much as traditional material. The beams can be cut, screwed, and drilled on site using common tools.
