A 3,500-sf, football-shaped copper roof is a highlight of the Kansas City Chiefs’ new training facility in Missouri. The roof sits atop an atrium at the facility, which leads to offices, two auditorium-style meeting rooms, locker and equipment rooms, and a player and staff dining area. A2MG Inc., Blue Springs, Mo., fabricated and installed the compound-radius roof using 16-ounce copper flat-seam panels with 1/8-inch anodized aluminum alloy plate panels around the perimeter of the roof. Six pairs of skylights in the roof form the laces of the football.
