Historic castle decorated with modern carpet tiles

Jan. 10, 2011

The Chateau Bethlehem, a historic 13th-century castle in the Netherlands, reopened as a 26-room hotel, and is being managed by students from the Hotel Management School, Maastricht, part of Zuyd University. Many of Holland’s leading interior designers contributed to the new hotel’s creative interiors, and after a two-year renovation the former Castle Limal (c. 1288) opened to guests. The facility’s woven Wilton and Axminster carpet tiles are from Desso, and part of the company’s AirMaster and SoundMaster product lines, which incorporate recycled materials and offer impact sound-reducing capabilities 60% greater than other carpet tiles, according to the company.
