The Jubilee Park Resource and Communities Centers wanted its building to blend old and new architecture styles to visually unify its Dallas neighborhood. Brent A. Brown Architects opted for Accoya Wood for its durability and sustainability. The nontoxic wood, made with an acetylation process, is dimensionally stable and as durable as tropical hardwoods. Harvested from sustainable sources, the wood was custom-milled for the project with a 45-degree miter joint with no trim, which hides the seam and stays tight at the joint.
