Membrane canopy shields guests at Orlando convention center

Aug. 11, 2010

The recently completed Hilton Orlando Convention Center now welcomes visitors with a tensioned membrane canopy over its entrance. The canopy shelters the facility's main entrance from the Florida sun, reducing peak cooling demand by 10-15%. More than 18,000 sf of PTFE Sheerfill went into the canopy. Sheerfill, manufactured by Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics, is the first architectural fabric membrane to achieve Energy Star qualification and Cool Roof Rating Council (CRRC) certification.
