Aluminum cladding gives law enforcement center a cleaner and more secure look

Aug. 11, 2010

The Law Enforcement Center in Elkhart, Ind., a joint venture between the Indiana Department of Administration and the Indiana State Police, houses both a state police post and three additional Indiana law enforcement entities. Design firm American Structurepoint of Indianapolis spec'd 4,300-sf of Dri-Design aluminum panels finished in gray, granite, and custom State Police Blue for the exterior of the $5 million building. “This was our first time using the Dri-Design system,” said Dan Weinheimer, head of American Structurepoint's architectural group. “The panels gave us a clean, sharp look without the caulking and sealant that can degrade over time.” He says the panels also worked well with the insulated concrete forms used in the structural system.
