Windows help to restore apartment building

Aug. 11, 2010

Built in 1939 to house the suburban population of Washington, D.C., the Westover Garden apartment complex in Arlington, Va., is undergoing a $53 million historic renovation that will update all 153 units. The property, owned by AHC Inc., is replacing the existing windows with historically styled Energy Star-rated vinyl windows, as specified by Wayne Neale, AIA, principal of Neale Architects. Also involved in the project are general contractor C.M. Parker & Co., the U.S. Department of the Interior, and the Virginia Housing Development Authority.
