Ron Rudi, assistant director of maintenance for the Sacramento Unified School District, has included Bobrick's SierraSeries solid color reinforced composite material as the master specification for toilet partitions in the district's 190 school sites. Rudi said the composite material is durable, easy to install, and easy to keep clean.
“It's a one-time install,” Rudi said. “That's what set the Bobrick product apart. All of the restrooms in our system are heated, but not all of them are properly ventilated, so we had issues with warping, and there's always a threat of vandalism in a school situation.”
Since the composite material resists scratching, cracking, and bending, it never requires replacement. Because paint and ink easily wash off the surface with soap and water (with no ghosting effect, unlike standard solid plastic partitions), the incentive to tag partitions has diminished.
“Since we've installed them, they've sort of sapped the will of the students that used to mark the place up,” Rudi said. “They don't even try anymore.”
