Radiant flooring system combines a structural subfloor and a radiant panel into one system, reducing the labor involved with installing radiant floors. Warmboard begins with a stiff 1 1/8-inch, 4x8-foot sheet of tongue-and-groove, weather-resistant plywood, onto which a modular pattern of channels is cut into the top surface. A thick sheet of aluminum is then stamped to match the channel pattern and is bonded to each panel. This means the same labor that installs the subfloor also installs a major portion of the radiant floor system. A roll of ½-inch PEX tubing is easily snapped into the channel to complete the hydronic circuit.
