Florida college gets copper-paneled roof

Aug. 11, 2010

While designing Florida State University's new College of Medicine building, architects HOK and Elliot Marshall Innes wanted the building to be distinct yet harmonious with campus style. They opted for a Petersen Aluminum mansard roof. Belmac Roofing Company, Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., installed more than 32,000 sf of unpainted 16-oz. copper Snap-Clad panels and 10,000 sf of copper flat stock. Produced in factory-formed lengths of up to 55 feet, Petersen's Snap-Clad panels are corrective leveled to provide flatness. Available in 36 standard colors on steel and 34 standard colors on aluminum.
