Breathable air/water barrier

Aug. 11, 2010

Fluid-applied, vapor-permeable membrane air barrier provides a continuous, monolithic air and water barrier that blocks rainwater from penetrating the building envelope, while allowing indoor moisture to escape. As a result, the barrier can help improve building energy efficiency, indoor comfort, and building envelope durability. Barritech VP features a single-component application by spray or roller and a quick, primerless application over concrete block, concrete, exterior gypsum sheathing, plywood, oriented strand board, and other common building materials. With high viscosity, the barrier coats surfaces in a single pass at a 60-mil wet thickness, which dries to a 40-mil, rubber-like membrane.
