Stretch membrane solves acoustic problems

Aug. 11, 2010

The NewAcoustic stretch ceiling system is designed for high acoustical absorption for ceiling or wall applications. Created by Newmat, the stretch ceiling system consists of a patented microperforated PVC membrane that can be installed by itself or over an acoustical core.

The membrane was used for the ceiling of the Olympic Club in San Francisco for its Olympic-sized pool because it provides a noise-reduction coefficient up to 1.0. NewAcoustic has also been specified in many of the Apple stores in the U.S., such as the Albany, N.Y., store (below), because of its clean look.
