More daylight for California school

Aug. 11, 2010

When Quattrocchi Kwok Architects of Santa Rosa, Calif., designed the new Heritage High School in Brentwood, they designed many large skylights to bring daylight into the school. General contractor Lathrop Construction of Benicia, Calif., and glazing contractor Vogel and Associates, San Carlos, chose Skywall Translucent Systems for the project. Large pyramid and ridge skylights were used in the school gym, cafeteria, and outdoor rotunda. The translucent panels were chosen because they have a U value of 0.24 to block solar heat gain.
