Old, new Hearst offices fitted for wireless technology

The original Hearst office complex is a six-story historical landmark building constructed in 1928. That same New York City building was integrated into the communications company's new 46-story headquarters. For Hearst, it was essential that both the new and existing buildings have Wi-Fi, multiple wireless voice and data applications, and a network that could support different cellular operators. Hearst chose Cisco's Unified Wireless LAN in conjunction with a Universal Wireless network from MobileAccess. The Wire-It-Once architecture from MobileAccess is compatible with Cisco's Unified Wireless and can support cellular, voice, data, and Wi-Fi services on a single hybrid fiber-cable infrastructure.
