Fabric roof adornes mall south of the border

Aug. 11, 2010

Fabric-roof manufacturer Birdair recently extended its reach into Latin America, working under demanding deadlines to successfully design and fabricate a tensile fabric membrane and steel cable roof structure for the 73,000-sf Cuernavaca Mall in Cuernavaca, Mexico. Working with the project architect, Marcos Suberville, engineers from Birdair created a series of cone structures using fabric, steel, and cable that echo the local mountains. The resulting interior space showers visitors with abundant natural light.
