GREENBUILD 2011: Nearly seamless highly insulated glass curtain-wall system introduced

Oct. 5, 2011

US Daylighting's AeroGlass ThermaDivide offers an insulation value of U 0.06—equivalent to a well-insulated solid wall, yet it will still allow the full spectrum of natural daylight into the room.

This insulation value is not just at the center of the window but reflects the insulation value of the entire curtain-wall system.

This is achieved through using Cabot's translucent Lumira aerogel as insulation within the panels, in conjunction with an innovative design that eliminates any exterior exposed aluminum frame. The system offers building owners and designers the opportunity to take advantage of all the benefits daylighting has for health, productivity and education while at the same time reducing the energy bills for HVAC and lighting.
