Five projects receive 2010 Aga Khan Award for Architecture

Projects big and small from the Middle East, Asian, and Europe were selected from a shortlist of 19 projects; a total of 401 projects were presented for consideration for the 2010 Award. The Aga Khan Awards, which were established in 1977 and are bestowed every three years, recognizes exemplary projects in communities where Muslims have a strong presence. Various project types are eligible, including contemporary architecture, historic preservation, and urban design.
