Failed mall getting a transformation

The former Parole (Md.) Plaza mall is currently undergoing a $400 million redevelopment to emerge as Annapolis Towne Centre at Parole, a mixed-use project situated on 33 acres. The first phase of the project, expected to be completed in 2008, will include Grandview, an 11-story, 144-unit condominium unit atop approximately 38,000 sf of ground-level retail being built by Sturbridge Homes, Gambrills, Md.

Upon completion, the center will be a combination of 100,000 sf of commercial office space, 665,000 sf of retail space, 900 for-sale and rental residential units, a 200-room full-service hotel, and 4,600 surface and structured parking spaces.

The Martin Architectural Group, Philadelphia, is designing the project.
