Building Design & Construction is the monthly magazine of business and technology for the Building Team: architects, engineers, contractors, construction managers, building owners/developers and facility managers. BD&C is a comprehensive source of information about construction and reconstruction of nonresidential buildings.

Major elements appearing each month in BD&C include the Building Team at Work, a cover story emphasizing the interaction among owner/developer, designer and contractor on a major building project; Building Technology articles, which examine applied technology in specific building systems; and articles on a variety of completed building projects. The News & Trends and Industry Data at the front of the magazine include articles on building markets, business and development trends, economic data, innovations in design and construction and new projects. Every month BD&C also reports on applications of a variety of materials and building systems. These reports are highlighted on the editorial calendar under Products/Systems Focus.

STORY IDEAS AND SUBMISSIONS
In researching topics, BD&C 's editors draw upon professionals in the field whose projects, practices and technical expertise are resources for many published articles. If you have any suggestions or questions regarding a specific item on the calendar, go to the editorial calendar posted on this Web site to determine the editor assigned to the article. We also encourage you to submit information on building projects, trends, legislation and any other issues that are affecting you and your firm. If you are submitting completed building projects for editorial review, you should include the following information: members of the building team; project start and completion dates; innovative features of the project's development, design and/or construction; a breakdown of hard construction costs; pertinent plans and drawings; and color photography (prints or 4-by-5 transparencies). Projects submitted for feature consideration must have been completed within the previous two years.

NEW PRODUCTS AND PRODUCT LITERATURE
BD&C publishes a comprehensive package of information about new and existing products. Much of the monthly product presentation includes four-color photography. Releases and photos for this section should be mailed to Mindi Zissman, Products Editor, at Building Design & Construction , 2000 Clearwater Drive, Oak Brook, IL 60523 or e-mail electronic files to her at mzissman@cahners.com. Electronic tiffs scanned at at least 300 dpi 4 inches wide are acceptable as are color prints and 35-mm or larger transparencies. Please note: We cannot publish product information if we do not receive contact info, including a name, of the person to whom we should send reader service leads.

DEADLINES AND EDITORIAL CONTACTS
Please keep in mind that submissions and editorial discussions are appropriate at any time. The content of most feature articles is finalized approximately three months prior to publication, so editorial contacts regarding a specific calendar topic should be made well in advance. You should also note that the editorial calendar is an outline that cannot specify all the content to be found in any single issue. For example, the calendar does not highlight particular project stories or news articles that will be published each month. The calendar is also subject to revision.
