Chicago's North Side to get a new neighborhood

Aug. 11, 2010

Parkside of Old Town, a 20-acre neighborhood with tree-lined streets, generous green spaces, and clear views of the city skyline, has broken ground on Chicago's North Side. The community's first phase includes two- and three-bedroom townhomes and two mid-rise condominium buildings, for a total of 280 residential units. All units will feature hardwood floors, granite countertops, maple or oak cabinets, stainless-steel kitchen appliances, and recessed lighting. The condo buildings will share a fitness facility and business center. The project is a joint development effort between Kimball Hill Urban Centers, Rolling Meadows, Ill., Holsten Real Estate Development Corp., and Cabrini-Green LAC Community Development Corp., both based in Chicago.
