LRS Architects delivers 107 affordable units in new Lincoln City, Ore., community
Architecture, interior design, and planning firm LRS Architects has recently designed and completed Lincoln 25 Apartments, a 107-unit affordable multifamily community in Lincoln City, Ore.
Developed and owned by Innovative Housing, Inc., the 98,932-sf project includes a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom flats and townhomes across eight garden-style buildings, along with a freestanding community building.
Located on a 4.38-acre site, the community brings much-needed affordable housing to the Oregon coast.
New Affordable Housing Community Comes to Lincoln City, Ore.
Set on a challenging coastal site with approximately 70 feet of elevation change from front to back, Lincoln 25 Apartments is shaped by its terrain, creating opportunities for residents to enjoy ocean views while also overlooking a nearby park and wildlife area. Several buildings are tucked into the hillside, creating residences with entries from multiple sides and levels.
Designed to support long-term housing stability, the community serves households with incomes at or below 30% and 60% of the Area Median Income. At the heart of the community, a centralized building provides shared common spaces, community laundry, property management offices, and resident services.
Outside, a covered area and adjacent play space support casual gathering while allowing parents to keep an eye on kids at play.
Across the site, retaining walls help create usable outdoor areas, organize parking, and support a network of walkways connecting homes near Hwy 101 with buildings higher on the hillside. Pedestrian paths also connect to a public nature trail that loops the perimeter and links to an existing trailhead.
