Atlanta’s tallest tower in over three decades tops out

At 60 stories, it will be tallest residential structure and fifth-tallest building in city.

The tallest tower constructed in Atlanta in over three decades, 1072 West Peachtree, recently topped out. The tower will rise 60 stories (749 feet), making it the city’s tallest residential structure and its fifth-tallest building.

Combining 350 luxury residences, 224,000 sf of Class-A office space, 6,300 sf of street-level retail, and parking for 750 vehicles, 1072 West Peachtree will add vibrancy to Midtown Atlanta’s live-work-play urban fabric.

The structure’s form and material strategy balances vertical expression with contextual sensitivity. At its base, a stone-clad podium anchors the building within the surrounding streetscape, with retail and office spaces designed to create an active and engaging environment for visitors, workers, and residents. Above, a slender glass residential tower is constructed with a unique pinwheel configuration.

With only eight units on most floors, the design ensures each residence receives at least two cardinal views. The building will be constructed with next-generation mechanical systems and smart building technology.

As one of Midtown Atlanta’s most richly appointed office and residential buildings, 1072 West Peachtree features a luxury spa and fitness center, resort-style pool and deck, smart-building systems, and concierge and valet services.

A sky garden serves as Midtown’s largest outdoor amenity deck, offering panoramic views of the city and a landscaped environment designed to promote wellness and community. Residents and office workers will have ready access to mass transit.

“Working together with the Rockefeller Group and our development partners, we have created a new destination that contributes meaningfully to Atlanta’s skyline while enhancing the experience of living and working in Midtown,” says Janet Simpson, president and CEO of TVS, the project’s architect.

The project is a joint venture between Rockefeller Group, Taisei USA LLC, and Mitsubishi Estate New York.
