Blue Collar Labs launches Builder’s Almanac, an online construction technology evaluation platform

Builder’s Almanac a free informational resource that organizes technology by construction workflow.

Blue Collar Labs announced this week the launch of their new online resource aimed at helping architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) companies better understand and navigate the construction technology landscape.

This online platform, the Builder’s Almanac, is a free informational resource that organizes technology by construction workflow, enabling construction professionals to find and explore innovative products without the pressures of subjective bias.

“We wanted to provide a one-stop shop that neatly and comprehensively showcases all technology products within the construction space,” said Karl Sorensen, Founder and President of Blue Collar Labs. “Our overall goal is to educate, empower, and equip construction professionals with the objective information they need in order to make good technology choices, absent of expensive consultants, pushy salespeople, and deceitful marketing campaigns.”

Not only benefitting the construction industry, technology vendors are finding success through the product profile pages Blue Collar Labs builds and hosts on their website for free.

“We are thrilled to be involved with BCL’s newest initiative,” said Christian Hamm, COO of Vancouver-based SiteMax Systems. “This platform has helped us build inroads and increase brand awareness in previously untapped markets, leading to sales opportunities.”

3D-printed construction milestones take shape in Tennessee and Texas

Two notable 3D-printed projects mark milestones in the new construction technique of “printing” structures with specialized concrete. In Athens, Tennessee, Walmart hired Alquist 3D to build a 20-foot-high store expansion, one of the largest freestanding 3D-printed commercial concrete structures in the U.S. In Marfa, Texas, the world’s first 3D-printed hotel is under construction at an existing hotel and campground site.
