Spectators at Auburn University's planned $92 million basketball arena will never be more than 40 feet from or 27 feet higher than the court, making an intimate environment for fans and players alike. Designed by 360 Architecture, Kansas City, Mo., and Davis Architects, Birmingham, Ala., with Robins & Morton, Birmingham, as construction manager, the 9,600-seat, 243,792-sf facility will include student-athlete space, a two-court practice facility, coaches offices, ticket office, team store, interactive athletic museum, two food courts, 12,000 sf of banquet/entertainment space, 12 luxury suites on the lower level and two entertainment suites above, and an athlete strength and conditioning area. Completion: mid-2010.
