Dean E. Horowitz has been named publisher of Building Design and Construction.
Horowitz brings nine years of construction publishing experience to BD&C, including six years as publisher of Professional Builder, Reed Business Information's flagship residential construction publication. While there, he spearheaded the creation of several spin-offs, including Professional Remodeler, Custom Builder, and Giants magazines, HousingZone.com online industry site, and the annual Show Village — a demonstration home at the International Builders Show.
In 2003, Horowitz was presented with RBI's highest corporate honor, the "Living the Values Award for Innovation." He received the Remodelors Council Chairman's Award in 1997 for service to the residential construction industry and the Lifetime Membership Honor with the Remodelors Council of National Association of Home Builders in 1998. He has served as a presenter and moderator for numerous construction industry programs and events.
Horowitz succeeds Robert F. Goulding, who has been named publishing director of RBI's Publishing Group, which includes such well-known titles such as Publishers Weekly and Library Journal.
Also joining the BD&C staff as Southeast sales director is Allan Wiltshire, who comes to the magazine from Reed Construction Data. Wiltshire is based in Atlanta.
