50 companies delivering robotics in construction

BuiltWorlds' annual Robotics Top 50 report shows off advancements in spatial AI and the growing applications of robotics in construction.

Earlier this month, BuiltWorlds released its 2026 Robotics Top 50, showing off the top robotics companies in the global built environment. This year’s list reflects the growing use of robotics on and off the jobsite, including significant advancements in spatial AI.

“We’ve seen jobsite robotics usage rise sharply since 2025,” says Audrey Lynch, Director of Research for BuiltWorlds. “Those piloting robotics specifically rose three-fold, signaling growing awareness and willingness to test the technology.”

This year’s Robotics Top 50, an annual report, highlighted technologies in the following categories:

Among the robotics companies spotlighted on this year’s list was a clear increase in the incorporation of AI.

“Advancements in spatial AI are increasing the applications of robotics throughout the global environment,” Lynch says. “From jobsite robotics companies like FieldAI to autonomous equipment providers like Bedrock, these companies represent the expansive, real-world transition of robotics from exciting potential tools to truly applicable technologies.”

It’s a transition that’s happening throughout the world.

“The 50 companies that made this year’s list showoff how global robotics have become,” Lynch added. “The 2026 honorees include companies from 16 countries.”

Canvas (JLG)
Canvas, now part of JLG, automates drywall finishing by spraying and sanding joint compound with consistent, repeatable results across large commercial interiors. The robot works alongside human crews to take on the most physically demanding and time-consuming part of the finishing process.

Cyphra Autonomy
Cyphra builds autonomous robotic haulers that move materials across construction sites without requiring any training or setup time from field crews. The Kansas City-based startup rents its robots directly to contractors, keeping workers focused on skilled tasks instead of fetching materials.

Dusty Robotics
Dusty's FieldPrinter robot prints full-scale BIM models directly onto construction floors at 1/16-inch accuracy, covering 10,000 to 15,000 square feet per day. Used on over 91 million square feet of construction, it replaces chalk lines and tape measures across all trades at once, compressing layout from months to days.

Finish Robotics
Finish Robotics builds autonomous plastering robots that apply and finish wall surfaces on construction sites, targeting one of the most labor-intensive interior trades. The system is designed to work in standard construction environments without special preparation, reducing the time and crew size needed to finish large floor plates.

Gecko Robotics
Gecko Robotics combines wall-climbing inspection robots with its Cantilever AI platform to give asset owners continuous visibility into the structural health of critical infrastructure. The Pittsburgh-based company has inspected power plants, industrial facilities, and bridges, using robotic data collection to surface corrosion and degradation before it becomes a safety or maintenance crisis.

ICON
ICON launched its Titan printer in early 2026: a multistory robotic system that prints structural concrete walls up to 27 feet high. The Austin-based company has already printed over 220 structures including homes, military barracks, and the largest 3D-printed neighborhood ever built.

Mechasys
Mechasys develops robotic layout and installation systems for MEP trades, automating the placement of hangers, sleeves, and other ceiling-mounted components from BIM-coordinated plans. The platform is designed to reduce the overhead drilling and marking work that typically keeps skilled MEP crews tied up for weeks on large commercial projects.

Okibo
Okibo's EG7 is a fully autonomous painting and drywall finishing robot that requires no external equipment, markings, or site preparation. Weighing 800 pounds and capable of finishing 1,000 square feet per hour, it has already covered more than one million square feet across Europe.

Raise Robotics
Raise Robotics builds a multipurpose robotic platform for high-risk installation work on commercial construction sites. Originally developed for curtainwall bracket installation on high-rise facades, the system now supports layout marking, concrete drilling, and as-built scanning.

Rugged Robotics
Houston-based Rugged Robotics offers robotic layout as a service, deploying its autonomous marking robots alongside experienced field crews rather than selling hardware for contractors to operate. This creates full-detail floor layout printed directly from coordinated digital plans.

SQ4D
SQ4D's ARCS system prints footings, foundations, slabs, and interior and exterior walls on-site using standard store-bought concrete. The New York-based company built the world's largest permitted 3D-printed home for less than $6,000 in materials.

Toggle Robotics
Toggle uses industrial robots, AI, and a proprietary software platform to pre-assemble rebar cages offsite and deliver them directly to jobsites. The solution has been deployed on New York transit infrastructure, bridge decks, and renewable energy projects across the US.
