Academic center in Oregon unites academia with campus services

By Leslie Streicher, Associate Editor | December 9, 2011

The first new building on the Yamhill Valley Campus of Chemeketa Community College in McMinnville, Ore., has centralized academic and administrative services on the campus. A multifunctional building, the 58,000-sf center houses classrooms, student services, testing areas, counseling, foodservice operations, a library, general science departments, and campus administration departments. Planning and landscape improvements also create a communal exterior space. Portland-based Yost Grube Hall Architecture and Carlson Veit Architects of Salem, Ore., led the Building Team.
