When renovating hospitals, construction firms must meet strict indoor environmental quality standards for the safety of patients and staff. A new tool developed by Skanska USA allows its project team members and clients to more effectively track the IEQ on healthcare reconstruction projects.

InSite Monitor allows users to remotely track noise, vibration, dust, and differential pressure in spaces, and automatically alerts team members of potentially dangerous activity, or when the sensors report values outside of normal, safe ranges.

Users can input the hospital’s standards, and they can choose how often they want updates. The free app, supported by Skanska USA’s Innovation Grant Program and available on iTunes, displays data both in graphical and tabular form.
