Seven years in the making, the high-profile Fifth and Alton retail and parking complex in Miami Beach, Fla., is nearly complete. Suffolk Construction is putting the final touches on the $50 million, 750,000-sf development, which is expected to help revitalize the Miami Beach neighborhood near the east end of the MacArthur Causeway and alleviate some of the area’s longtime parking problems.

Designed by Robin Bosco Architects & Planners for developer Jeff Berkowitz, the five-story complex is situated on three acres and rests on auger cast piles with elevated concrete decks supported by a pre-stressed concrete joist system.
