Chattanooga-based Derthick, Henley & Wilkerson is architect for a $45 million expansion of the Chattanooga Convention Center. The general contractor is a joint venture of Atlanta-based Beers Construction Co. and Chattanooga-based T.U. Parks Construction Co. When completed in the spring of 2003, the convention center will contain a total of 298,000 square feet.

The Swiss firm of Herzog & de Meuron is design architect and Minneapolis-based A/E Hammel, Green and Abrahamson is architect of record for a $90 million addition to the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis. Minneapolis-based Mortenson is the general contractor for the 100,000-sq.-ft. expansion. The expansion/renovation project is scheduled to begin in 2003.
