The Hotchkiss School in Lakeville, Conn., will soon be warmed by a woodchip-burning heating facility, which will replace an oil-fired boiler and significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

General contractor Hodgin Construction and Smith Sinnett Architecture will collaborate on the execution of this adaptive reuse project, which involves converting a 46,000-sf warehouse into a multi-use facility for industrial training, professional development, and continuing education.

 

Federal CenterSeattle project to turn 1940s warehouse into LEED Gold workspace for Army Corps of Engineers
The redevelopment encompasses 209,000 sf at a projected cost of $72 million. Targeting LEED Gold certification, the project will incorporate various energy-saving systems while helping revitalize the surrounding community.

 

Science center Science center to inspire innovation at Massachusetts liberal arts college
The 67,000-sf, three-story academic facility will house labs, office space, a rooftop classroom and greenhouse, a two-story atrium, and informal learning spaces for innovative education.
