New facility continues university's Bhutanese tradition

The Houston office of PageSoutherlandPage, in collaboration with Carl Daniel Architects of El Paso, Texas, is providing design and engineering services for the 130,000-sf College of Health Sciences and School of Nursing building at the University of Texas at El Paso. The new building's design reflects the distinctive Bhutanese architecture style, which is the El Paso campus's unifying design aesthetic, and is based on Bhutan buildings of the Eastern Himalayas. The $60 million facility will house instructional, research, and clinical facilities, including a virtual reality and interactive technologies learning center.
