Using an adhesive liquid membrane over walls can help assure that expanded polystyrene board adheres and provides a watertight barrier against the elements. KeyCoat liquid membrane was used on a retrofit and addition to the Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Fla. It can be applied straight from the bucket onto the wall, and dries in as little as four hours. The membrane is a one-step installation system and can be used for standard or drainage EIFS.
