Insulation Energy Savings: Key Issues and Performance Factors
This paper presents an overview of the impact of energy performance in commercial construction as well as a discussion of the key issues in building-envelope design and construction. It specifically focuses on closed cell spray polyurethane foam (ccSPF) insulation and waterproofing and its applications to improve energy performance. A cost analysis of the use of ccSPF insulation and waterproofing systems is presented and the paper concludes with a set of constructive recommendations for consideration by building designers, constructors, developers and owners concerned about issues critical to energy and the environment.
