In a redevelopment milestone for Jacksonville, Fla., Miami-based developer American Land Ventures has completed The Strand, the city's first riverfront high-rise condominium tower in the evolving Southbank area. The 28-story, 295-unit building is the first of three residential towers planned by the developer as part of its St. Johns mixed-use complex on the south shore of the St. Johns River. Construction work on the 38-story second phase, called The Peninsula, is currently under way. The final phase, a 40-story tower, will bring the total number of condo units to 719, along with 1,342 parking spaces, 7,000 sf of retail space, and 3,500 sf of offices. The three towers were designed by the Fort Lauderdale, Fla., office of Dorsky Hodgson Parrish Yue, Cleveland.
